Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her support and motivation to improving South African Social Security Company (SASSA) providers in the course of an engagement along with the agency's senior professionals at a strategic scheduling session in Cape Town.

Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the various social grant beneficiaries, who excelled while in the 2024 matric exams.

From the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for the National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing eighty one% with the registered pupils while in the training sector.

These learners achieved a commendable pass rate of 86%.

"This means that the investment national government is producing in the life of bad and susceptible youngsters is yielding a positive impression in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe stated.

Reflecting on the latest achievements, the Minister highlighted crucial milestones and ongoing priorities. She dedicated to urgently addressing The problem of long-lasting leadership appointments as well as shortage of staff at most local workplaces.
